变动指示星怎样计算？
普通行星先把标准化经度换成所属星座内的 0°—30° 进度，再把符合条件的天体从大到小排序，最后按选定角色表赋名。本页比较的两种名单都不纳入计都。
Rao 的八项法还纳入罗喉，并从星座末端反向量它的进度。这个反算只适用于该法中的罗喉，不能据此把所有逆行行星都改用反向度数。
看似同分，其实相差十角秒
假设太阳的星座内进度为 12°30′30″，月亮为 12°30′20″，其余参与者都更低。即使画面都显示 12°30′，太阳仍领先十角秒，应排在月亮之前。
若原始值真的完全相同，必须声明规则。Rao 描述共用一个角色、下一个角色留空的处理；经核对的 OpenFate 七项实现则按固定经典天体顺序打破完全同分。两者不能混称为同一算法。
精度不足时该怎么办？
不能编造缺失的秒数来选出喜欢的答案。若合理输入范围会使相邻名次互换，就列明可能的角色与不确定原因。屏幕小数位更多，也不代表出生记录更准确。
角色不是人格、道德或关系诊断。先保存完整排序与设置，再讨论有条件的传统象征，避免解释文字反过来改写应当独立核对的计算结果。
