Full Moon Calendar 2027: Dates, Times & Zodiac Signs
Core Answer
There are 12 full moons in the 2027 calendar year. The table lists the exact phase times in New York and UTC, plus tropical zodiac signs. Two occur in Scorpio; a calendar year does not require one full moon in each sign.
A calendar for observing and reflecting
A full moon occurs when the Moon and Sun are opposite in geocentric ecliptic longitude. That instant is worldwide, while moonrise, visibility, weather, and the date on your clock depend on location.
Use the time column to identify the phase and a local sky forecast to plan viewing. The Moon can look nearly full on the neighboring nights, so the exact minute need not determine when you go outside.

Tropical signs are not astronomical constellations. Times follow the cited lunar-phase table.
Read the date in your own time zone
The June full moon is on June 18 in New York but June 19 in UTC and East Asia. November is November 13 in New York and November 14 in UTC. December 13 UTC becomes December 14 in Japan and Korea.
When copying a date into a calendar, preserve the time zone. A screenshot headed only “full moon dates” can hide this distinction and make two accurate lists appear contradictory.
Why Scorpio appears twice
The April and May full moons occur near the beginning and end of tropical Scorpio. Lunar cycles do not line up exactly with calendar months or the boundaries of the twelve equal zodiac sectors.
The signs in this table are tropical astrological signs, not the astronomical constellations behind the Moon. A sidereal zodiac uses a different reference and can assign a different sign without changing the full-moon instant.
Full moons and lunar eclipses are different questions
Every lunar eclipse occurs near a full moon, but most full moons do not produce an eclipse because the Moon passes above or below Earth’s shadow. February and August have penumbral eclipses in 2027.
The July event is borderline: NASA’s older catalog lists a tiny penumbral eclipse, while some modern catalogs call it an almost eclipse. The linked eclipse guide explains this difference. The time of greatest eclipse is not necessarily the exact full-moon time.
Use moon names with cultural context
Names such as Wolf Moon or Harvest Moon belong to particular naming traditions and seasonal contexts. They are not an official global naming system, and a Northern Hemisphere seasonal name may be a poor fit elsewhere.
The date-and-sign table avoids making one set of names universal. If you keep a journal, use your own season and location alongside the phase rather than assuming the same seasonal symbolism applies everywhere.
A simple full-moon review
Choose one observable question: what reached a milestone, what needs closure, or what became clearer since the last new moon? Write down an example and one next step. The usefulness comes from the review, not a promised effect of moonlight.
For example, compare the plan and outcome of a month-long project, then choose a change for the next cycle. If you also read a birth chart, distinguish the full moon’s degree and house from broad statements about your Sun sign.
