Retrograde Calendar 2027: Planet Dates & Carryover Cycles

Published at 2026/10/15 | #retrograde calendar 2027 #planets in retrograde 2027
Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn arranged along golden tracks symbolizing planetary time intervals.

Core Answer

In 2027 Mercury has three retrograde periods and Mars has one. Jupiter and Uranus begin the year already retrograde; Uranus starts another cycle in September that continues into 2028. Venus has no retrograde interval in 2027. Pluto is included as a dwarf planet used in astrology.

A yearly calendar must include carryovers

A list of station dates alone can make January look empty when a cycle began in the previous year. This calendar distinguishes an actual 2027 station from the January 1 edge of the reporting window.

The tables use the tropical, geocentric ecliptic convention. The Sun and Moon are not included as retrograde planets, and asteroids, lunar nodes, and Chiron are outside this particular calendar’s scope.

Times follow Cafe Astrology; small ephemeris or rounding differences are possible. This is an ecliptic-longitude calendar.

Read the intervals, not just the station dates

Jupiter’s cycle begins in December 2026 and ends in April 2027. Uranus’s earlier cycle begins in September 2026 and ends in February 2027; its next cycle begins in September 2027 and continues into February 2028.

January 1 and December 31 are calendar boundaries, not additional planetary stations. The table marks a continuation rather than inventing a start or end at midnight on those dates.

Venus is the useful exception

There is no Venus retrograde during 2027. A calendar that automatically assigns one annual cycle to every planet will therefore be wrong. Mercury’s three cycles should also remain separate rather than being merged into one long span.

Mars’s shadow stretches from 2026 into June 2027, but its actual retrograde ends in April. Shadows and retrogrades answer different questions; consult the dedicated Mercury and Mars guides for repeated-degree boundaries.

Time zones change several end dates

Jupiter turns direct on April 12 in New York but April 13 in UTC and East Asia. Pluto’s October 17 New York station is October 18 UTC. Saturn’s December 23 New York station is December 24 UTC.

Use the explicit zone and UTC reference instead of mixing dates from different regional lists. A planet has one station instant even when calendars display different civil days.

Many simultaneous retrogrades do not form a risk score

Outer planets spend long stretches retrograde, so overlapping periods are normal. Counting the number of retrograde bodies does not measure the probability of a personal setback.

A more informative astrological question is whether a transiting body reaches a specific natal degree. That still yields an interpretation, not a proven prediction, but it is more precise than saying that “everything is retrograde.”

Turn the overview into a usable calendar

Save only the events relevant to your study and keep a separate layer for personal appointments. If you use a wide interpretive orb, label that window separately from the exact station.

For example, use the annual overview to find a Mercury cycle, open its detailed date table, then confirm your local time. Avoid changing ordinary plans merely because several entries overlap on the same week.

FAQ

Is Venus retrograde in 2027?

No. Venus has no retrograde interval in the 2027 calendar year.

Why does January already contain retrograde planets?

Jupiter and Uranus carry over cycles that began in 2026. An annual calendar should include those continuing intervals.

Why is Pluto listed if it is not a major planet?

Pluto is a dwarf planet and is commonly included in astrological calendars. Its inclusion here does not change its astronomical classification.
