來源如何分類大運？
Rao 第二部分導言介紹 nakshatra 類與 rashi 類方法，並列出 Vimshottari、Ashtottari、Narayana 等。這是實務作者的傳統架構，不是時期能造成事件的科學證據。
起算是否依宿，和時期是否以星體命名，是兩個分類問題。不能推定所有宿類都採相同九星長度，也不能推定所有星座類都用相同十二座順序。
不同標籤可以直接互相比準嗎？
假想一份報告標示月亮宿 Vimshottari，目前為水星主運；另一份標示 Narayana，目前是某個星座時期。它們回答的不是完全相同的計算題，不能只比名稱就判定錯誤。
先做方法表：出生輸入、起算、時期單位、長度算法與日曆約定。缺少任何一項時，應先查方法，不是用人生敘事是否相似來投票決定哪套正確。
