打開一本 BPHS，先核對哪些地方？
先看扉頁與編輯說明：是誰的文本、翻譯或評注？目前是哪一卷？章節和偈頌編號怎麼標？譯者說明要與被解釋的原文分開；傳統署名也不能直接確定現代一整卷每個部分的年代。
這次查閱的倉儲書目列 Santhanam R. 和 Ranjan Publication，並提供第一、第二卷檔案。這可用於辨認副本，不是手稿校勘成果。我們未逐偈審讀兩份檔案，也未確認所有版本都有一致的權威章節數。
記錄中的2012年，代表哪一種日期？
倉儲中有2012年9月的入庫時間，另有同月 issued 日期欄。讀書筆記應標成倉儲中繼資料，不能因此寫“BPHS 成書於2012年”；也不能用同一筆記錄證明某個古代成書日期。
兩個下載卷次只描述這份副本的安排，不等於兩部可各自確定年代的古典作品。拿另一版本比較時，應同時對照主題、開頭詞句與偈頌編號，不能假設兩本書的第100頁就是同一段。
如何檢查歸給 BPHS 的一條規則？
假設文章說某條活動卡拉卡規則來自 BPHS。記下短引文、版本、卷次與位置，再開啟該段及前後說明，確認哪些天體參與排序、例外在哪裡，以及指令出自原文還是評注。沒有定位就先標記歸屬未確認。
Rao 序言談到常被稱為 Jaimini 的技法時，請讀者參照 BPHS；這是現代作者提供的路標，不能代替已核對的 BPHS 段落。古典引文能記錄傳統做法，卻不能單獨證明科學有效性或支持對某個人生命結果的斷言。
如何選擇 BPHS 英文版？
下方 Google Books 書目將 R. Santhanam 列為譯者，ISBN 為 9788188230600；Sagittarius Publications 另列 Girish Chand Sharma 的兩卷本。這些資料用來辨識版本，不代表已比較兩種譯本的準確性。
學習時可先找老師使用的版本，或比較同一段的試閱內容。確認語言、譯者、註釋、包含哪些卷次及詩節編號。用書目確認版本，再到出版方頁面查看目前的取得方式；本頁不是全書譯文。
一個 BPHS PDF 是否包含上下兩卷？
檔名不能證明內容完整。Yoga Library 的紀錄把 Santhanam 第一卷與第二卷列為獨立檔案。檢查任何副本時，都應查看書名頁、目錄及首尾頁；節錄或單卷不會因為檔名寫著 BPHS 就變成全套。
拉丁字母書名也不保證正文是英文。先看試閱頁，分清譯文、梵文詩節與註釋，並遵守提供方的使用條款；網路上看得到掃描檔，不等於已獲得再次散布的許可。
