概览

Panchanga 的名称指“五个部分”：星期、月日、月宿、日月和角形成的 Nitya Yoga，以及半月日 Karana。读日历时，除了名称，还要看记录对应的时刻和各项结束时间。

先分清标题、当前值和结束时间

某天标题可能列日出时的五要素，另一种界面可能列当前瞬间值。先查清出版者采用的参照，再判断名称是在描述哪个时间点或区间。

一项的结束不代表其他四项同时结束。跨午夜的时间也可能有特殊标记，应遵循该日历说明；不能自行把超过午夜的表示改成当天上午。

读一条五要素记录

假设日出06:00，第四月日持续到10:15，第五月宿持续到14:40。到11:00，月日已进入下一项，而月宿仍是第五；到15:00，两项都已越过各自的结束点。

这些是为了练习阅读而设定的时间，不是某天的真实星历。查询活动时，应把活动瞬间分别放进各项区间，不能只看日出时那一行。

一条完整记录还需说明什么？

应能追问地点、时区、日出定义、黄道设置，以及每个区间的起止采用什么约定。只有名称却没有时地的信息，通常不足以复算。

这里介绍的是历法结构，不是运行中的日历工具。“这个月日出现了”也不等于“所有事情都适合做”；具体择时还涉及行动、流派和现实条件。
