Definition and Scope
This guide distinguishes how significators receive one another from what can block, carry, or collect an applying connection. The audit records the dignity table, reception threshold, aspect and orb policy, planetary speeds, exact order of contacts, prohibition, frustration, refranation, translation, and collection definitions used. A reviewable case must show the complete sequence rather than naming a favorable reception while omitting the earlier interruption.
Evidence and Repeatable Method
Draw the exact degree sequence, motion, first application, dignity-based reception, and role of any third planet, then state which author’s definition is used.
Worked Example and Near Miss
Mercury separates from one significator and applies to another; the example identifies the intermediary represented by Mercury and tests whether contact occurs before interruption.
A three-planet worked table records A separating from B, A applying to C, each exact degree, speed, dignity relationship, and any earlier fourth-planet contact. The selected school’s translation and reception thresholds are applied once. If prohibition perfects first, the favorable sequence is marked failed rather than rescued by describing mutual reception without its timing.
A third planet anywhere between two symbols is called translation of light, even when it is slower, not separating, or not applying next.
Schools and Method Variants
Bonatti, Lilly, and later practitioners differ on whether reception is required and how interposition changes perfection; retain those disagreements in the judgment receipt.
Limits, Product Boundary, and Safe Use
Reception is not consent, affection, honesty, or legal permission, and translation of light is not proof that a mediator will succeed. Draw a three-column sequence for each involved planet: current degree and speed, dignities granted under the named table, and next exact contact. Mark whether a faster body separates from one significator and applies to the other, whether a third planet intervenes, and which school treats that sequence as effective. Preserve failed alternatives. Verify any real intermediary, authority, agreement, and risk directly.
