Ever-flowing Water is the water-class Nayin assigned to 壬辰 and 癸巳. Classical sources connect 辰 with a water storehouse and 巳 with metal’s birth position, then describe a current returning southeast and receiving support from named metals; the image does not prove endurance, cash flow, travel, longevity, or ordinary water strength.

Ever-flowing Water belongs to 壬辰 and 癸巳
Only complete 壬辰 and 癸巳 pillars receive the Ever-flowing Water name. A Ren or Gui stem, a Chen or Si branch, a river, movement, or characters joined across separate pillars are not enough.
壬 and 癸 remain water stems; 辰 remains an earth branch and 巳 a fire branch with their original hidden stems. The water Nayin does not erase those branches or manufacture additional ordinary water.

Storehouse water and generating metal explain the long current
Traditional explanations identify 辰 as a water storehouse and 巳 as the place where metal begins to grow. Stored water meeting generating metal becomes an image of a source that does not run dry; San Ming Tong Hui also describes the current as returning toward the southeast positions of 辰 and 巳.
The source prefers specific White Wax and Hairpin-Bracelet metals because their stems and branches align with the stated support. Other waters, earths, fires, woods, and metals have separate pair rules, so “all metal feeds the stream” is too broad.
