What Is Thunder Fire (霹靂火) in BaZi?
Identify the 戊子–己丑 Thunder Fire pair, its wind, water, thunder, wood, and fire conditions, and its limits for intelligence and disaster claims.
Overview
Thunder Fire is the fire-class Nayin assigned to 戊子 and 己丑. San Ming Tong Hui pictures a flash and thunderous transformation that requires named wind, water, and thunder conditions, then separates woods, earths, metals, and other fires; the image does not prove divine mandate, unusual intelligence, sudden success, electrical talent, storms, injury, or ordinary fire strength.

Thunder Fire belongs to 戊子 and 己丑
The fixed Nayin table assigns Thunder Fire only to complete 戊子 and 己丑 pillars. A Wu or Ji stem, a Zi or Chou branch, lightning, electricity, a sudden event, or characters assembled across pillars do not establish it.
戊 and 己 remain earth stems; 子 remains a water branch and 丑 an earth branch with their original hidden stems. The fire Nayin adds a historical pair image without converting those components or adding ordinary fire.
- Match the complete Jiazi in one pillar.
- Preserve the original earth stems and branch data.
Wind, water, and thunder are named transformation conditions
San Ming Tong Hui describes a slender flash, lightning, racing clouds, and thunder, then says this fire needs wind, water, or thunder to transform. Great Sea 癸亥, Great Stream 乙卯, Heavenly River water, and the wind or thunder carried by particular woods are evaluated separately rather than merged into one weather image.
Roadside and Sand Earth, Sword, Sea, White Wax and other metals, Furnace, Lamp and Heavenly fires also depend on exact stems, branches, water, or wind. A visible flash is therefore not evidence that any amount of water, wood, or fire is automatically favorable.
- Identify the exact wind, water, or thunder carrier.
- Keep the 戊子 and 己丑 exceptions distinct.
A sudden flash remains non-scoring evidence
OpenFate deterministically maps 戊子 and 己丑 to Thunder Fire. Compatibility keeps the label auxiliary and non-scoring, so direct pillar relations, chart structure, and favorable-element evidence remain primary.
Actual fire strength and function depend on season, roots, hidden and exposed stems, support, control, combinations, clashes, dryness, moisture, and timing. Thunder imagery cannot show that fire is powerful, activated, rare, or beneficial.
- Separate the fixed pair lookup from scoring.
- Assess ordinary fire through the complete chart.
Thunder does not predict genius, shock, or catastrophe
Thunder Fire does not prove divine authority, spiritual powers, exceptional intelligence, originality, sudden fame, volatile temper, electrical or technical skill, lightning strikes, storms, accidents, seizures, heart rhythm problems, or sudden death. Weather imagery is not a risk or medical forecast.
Electrical safety, severe-weather planning, mental and neurological health, employment, and emergency decisions require measurements, warnings, observed symptoms, and qualified professionals. Never encourage exposure to storms or electricity because of this Nayin.
- Exclude supernatural, intelligence, disaster, and health claims.
- Use official warnings and professional evidence for real hazards.
