Sukuyo glossary: birth mansion, day mansion and relative roles
A Sukuyo glossary separates calendar inputs, mansion identifiers, relative roles, and interpretation; similar names do not imply the same calculation.
Overview
A term’s field matters as much as its spelling: date input, absolute mansion and relative role are not interchangeable.
At a glance
- 本命宿
- Birth-reference mansion
- 值日宿
- Mansion assigned to a target day by a declared method
- 三九
- Three groups of nine relative positions
宿 and 本命宿
A mansion is a named position; a birth mansion uses a birth-date calculation as its reference.
Do not confuse the identifier with a measured personality trait.
值日 and 七曜
A target-day mansion and a weekday luminary are separate calendar fields. A special-day combination can require both.
Sunday is not itself the name of a lunar mansion.
命, 業 and 胎
These begin the three groups at inclusive positions one, ten and nineteen.
In a two-person comparison, 業 and 胎 pair into the family 業胎; they are not proof of reincarnation.
Near, middle and far
These are positional bands in the declared relationship convention. They do not measure geographical distance or emotional closeness.
命 and 業胎 are unbanded in the OpenFate method.
宮, 足 and 六宿
The twelve-palace/four-foot map and six named reference roles are separate structures.
An exact personal foot requires more than a date-only mansion label, and six roles are not six compatibility families.
Resolve an ambiguous screenshot
If a screen shows 宿, 値日, 七曜 and 三九, label them respectively as mansion identity, target-day assignment, weekday luminary and source-relative role before reading any description.
Do not translate every field as “sign.” The glossary exists to preserve different inputs and outputs, not merely provide aliases.
