Choose a source for the claim
Use a historical text to document a historical statement and product documentation to explain a product setting.
A calculator homepage is not independent proof of the tradition’s predictive validity.
Locate the exact passage
Record the volume, chapter and line anchor where available. Read neighboring sentences and commentary.
A bibliography at the bottom of a page does not automatically support every sentence above it.
Compare tables explicitly
Keep roster length, starting entries and inclusive counting rules visible.
Do not silently reconcile an old table with a modern one when the entries differ.
Read the terminology guides
The glossary, classification, six-role and palace/pada pages explain distinct reference systems.
Similar vocabulary does not make them interchangeable with relationship families or daily labels.
Keep modern interpretation attributable
The mansion exercises are OpenFate’s authored applications, not quotations from the classical source.
A useful reflection can be offered honestly without pretending that it is an ancient empirical finding.
Build a claim-to-source matrix
Give each factual claim its own row with source ID, volume or section, locator, supported wording and explicit limitation. Mark product policy and editorial examples as separate source classes.
A source panel is useful only when readers can tell which claim each citation supports; proximity alone is not evidence ownership.
