Clashing a Void

Learn how an opposing branch may contact a void branch, why the clash must be calculated directly, and why it does not automatically remove Void.

Overview

Clashing a Void refers to a direct six-clash relation involving a branch in the reference xun’s void pair. The clash identifies contact or activation under methods that recognize it, but schools differ on whether this weakens, exposes, disturbs, or helps resolve the void condition. The underlying branches and original xun remain unchanged.

Verify a real six-clash pair

A void branch is not “clashed” because a narrative feels disruptive. Its paired opposite must actually appear in the chart or a declared timing layer.

Record both branches, their pillars, the reference xun, and whether the contact is natal, luck, or annual.

  • Use the canonical six-clash table.
  • Keep participant and layer data visible.

Contact is not the same as deletion

The clash can make a branch relation more salient, alter stability, or provide a condition some lineages call emergence from void.

It does not erase either branch, change the sexagenary group, or automatically convert an unfavorable reading into a favorable one.

  • Preserve the original void flag.
  • Describe the relation before its interpretation.

Strength and other relations still matter

Season, roots, combinations, transformations, distance, repetition, and the functions of the involved stems and branches affect how a clash is read.

If another combination binds a participant or the contact exists only briefly, the interpretation should reflect that counterevidence.

  • Audit competing relations.
  • Do not isolate the clash from the chart.

A clash does not announce conflict or loss

Technical “clash” language does not prove an argument, accident, separation, illness, financial loss, or legal dispute.

Avoid fear-based copy and ground safety, medical, legal, relationship, and financial decisions in real-world evidence.

  • Do not literalize the word clash.
  • Never use it as a risk diagnosis.
