Which page should I read first?
The Panchanga term page teaches how to read an almanac entry. The five-limbs page compares the angle formulas, and the tithi page works through lunar-day boundaries. Use the sunrise guide when two locations or calendars show different daily labels.
Only after these facts are clear should the Muhurta page introduce selecting a time for a particular action. A calendar with five entries is not automatically a validated recommendation engine. Different traditions can prioritize different criteria.
A morning label may not last all day
Consider a fictional almanac: local sunrise 06:10, tithi 3 ending 07:20, and an activity planned for 09:00. If the header lists the tithi at sunrise, it can correctly show 3 even though tithi 4 is running at the activity time.
The apparent conflict disappears when the entry’s sampling time is stated. It does not show that the activity is lucky or unlucky. Record the interval and the action’s actual start before adding any traditional election criterion.
What must stay separate from the calendar?
The same geocentric Sun–Moon angle at one instant is not changed merely by displaying another timezone, but local sunrise selects a different sampling instant. The sunrise definition itself must be named; standard apparent sunrise and a center-based calendar convention need not agree.
These guides explain methods rather than demonstrate live OpenFate Panchanga output. If sunrise is unavailable or the local-time record is ambiguous, do not fill in a convenient value. Practical safety, consent and real-world scheduling constraints remain independent requirements.
