Overview

Planetary conditions are several kinds of information, not one good-to-bad score. Verify the planet and chart settings, classify its sign dignity, record its motion, then examine house responsibilities and relationships. This hub explains that workflow; the individual guides define each rule.

Explore concepts

Start with the field you can verify

Read the position row before an adjective such as strong or difficult. Keep its planet, sign, degree, motion and calculation settings together. A dignity label is usually a relationship between a planet and a sign; retrograde describes apparent motion instead. Neither can replace the other.

Next identify the house reference and the signs owned by that planet. Only then inspect relevant associations. The dignity guide owns the glossary question; this page helps decide which check to perform next when a report contains several labels.

An exaltation-sign Jupiter can also be retrograde

Use synthetic values: Jupiter at Cancer 8°, longitude speed −0.08°/day, and Taurus lagna with whole-sign houses. Cancer is Jupiter’s exaltation sign in the cited table, but 8° is not its exact 5° peak. The negative geocentric longitude speed records retrograde motion; Cancer is the third house from Taurus.

These statements do not conflict. Jupiter also owns Sagittarius and Pisces, which are the eighth and eleventh whole-sign houses from Taurus. A house-role interpretation therefore needs more than the word exalted. No current date, real birth chart or future event is represented by this exercise.

What to do when reports disagree

Locate the first differing layer: raw position, dignity convention, motion timestamp, house reference or association rule. Keep unknown fields unknown. A same-sign relationship does not supply an exact orb, and a retrograde icon does not establish combustion or cancel a dignity.

Use the linked term guides for a reproducible check, not to accumulate favorable adjectives. A coordinate can be recalculated; a claim about character, health or financial success requires another kind of evidence. Publication and editorial approval remain separate from a technically consistent draft.
