Definition and Scope

This guide documents traditional great-conjunction work and modern outer-planet cycle analysis as periodization methods. The audit records exact conjunctions and oppositions, retrograde recurrences, elemental or sign classifications when used, phase boundaries, and the historical dataset selected before reading. Skyscript and curriculum sources document that practitioners study these cycles; they do not establish predictive power. A defensible comparison separates descriptive chronology from a forecast and states which institutional measure would contradict the proposed theme.

Evidence and Repeatable Method

Specify bodies, exact phase angle, orb, cycle start and end, geocentric or heliocentric frame, comparison periods, indicators, and base rates before interpretation.

Worked Example and Near Miss

A Jupiter-Saturn cycle study predefines institutional indicators across several conjunction periods and records both matching and nonmatching changes.

The study selects five completed conjunction cycles, one consistent phase rule, and two institutional indicators with public datasets. Each cycle receives the same before-and-after window, and both changes and stability are logged. A theme that fits only one famous episode is marked weak. No new orb, outer planet, or nested cycle is introduced after the historical comparison is seen.

One famous event is chosen after each conjunction, contrary events are dropped, and a broad generational theme is presented as causal proof.

Schools and Method Variants

Schools disagree about orb, phase emphasis, elemental mutations, outer-planet inclusion, and cycle nesting; each produces a different period map.

Limits, Product Boundary, and Safe Use

Long cycles cannot explain an era by selecting one famous event after each conjunction and ignoring the rest. Define the planets, geocentric or heliocentric frame, exact phase angle, orb, start and end rule, nested cycles, jurisdictions, public indicators, base rates, and comparison periods in advance. Test at least several completed cycles and preserve nonmatches. Broad generational language must not become a causal claim about individuals or nations. Economic, political, scientific, and safety decisions require current domain evidence, not a cycle label.
