Definition and Scope

This guide covers charts cast for a planet’s entry into a zodiacal sign, especially seasonal ingresses used in traditional mundane practice. The audit distinguishes a global astronomical ingress from the location-dependent angles and houses of a chosen jurisdiction. It records coordinates, time zone, calculation version, ingress degree, planetary positions, house cusps, and the exact period claimed. Skyscript’s dated examples and the NCGR curriculum document the method; they do not prove that an ingress causes or forecasts public events.

Record ephemeris, exact ingress instant, time scale, location, house system, angle quality, period rule, comparison charts, and the indicators selected before observation.

Worked Example and Near Miss

An Aries ingress is calculated once for London and once for Tokyo; identical planetary longitudes but different angles and houses are shown before any interpretation.

Two analysts use the same astronomical Aries ingress but cast location-dependent houses for two declared capitals. Each publishes coordinates, time standard, house system, seasonal window, and three public indicators before the quarter starts. Results are reviewed separately; a pattern in one jurisdiction cannot be transferred to the other, and changing the capital produces a new model rather than a correction.

The location is omitted, the ingress time is rounded across an angle boundary, or duration rules are selected after seeing later events.

Schools and Method Variants

Authors differ on Aries-only versus quarterly ingresses, cardinal/fixed/mutable duration rules, house systems, and whether national radix charts should be overlaid.

Limits, Product Boundary, and Safe Use

An ingress chart cannot by itself predict an election, market, storm, conflict, disease, or national outcome. Predeclare the jurisdiction, capital or reference location, zodiac and ephemeris, exact ingress time, time standard, house system, seasonal period, comparison chart, and public indicators. Archive the interpretation before the period begins and score both matches and misses. If the location or house mapping changes, publish a separate model rather than adjusting it after events. Official data and safety guidance always override the symbolic reading.
