Earthly Branches in Luck and Annual Cycles (歲運地支)
Overlay luck-pillar and annual branches on the natal chart, preserve source and duration, resolve new branch relations, and avoid deterministic event forecasts.
Overview
A luck-pillar branch and an annual branch are time-limited additions to the natal branch network. Each can repeat, combine, clash, punish, harm, break, or complete a group involving natal or other timing branches. Reliable analysis keeps natal, luck, and annual provenance separate, resolves calendar boundaries consistently, and states possibilities and counterevidence rather than promising events.
At a glance
- Natal layer
- Four immutable birth-chart branches
- Luck layer
- One branch for the documented luck-pillar interval
- Annual layer
- One branch for the selected year convention
- Recalculated relations
- Repeats, groups, combinations, clashes, punishments, harms, and breaks
- Required metadata
- Calendar rule, source layer, start, and end
- Boundary
- Timing relation is not event proof
Lock the natal network before adding cycles
The report should preserve the four natal branches, hidden stems, month command, and original relations as a frozen baseline.
This prevents a ten-year or one-year influence from being mistaken for an attribute present since birth.
- Keep a stable natal snapshot.
- Do not backfill timing branches into birth data.
Label every timing branch and boundary
Luck-pillar start age and annual rollover depend on documented calculation conventions, so the engine must expose the selected rule.
Each branch needs a source layer and interval, especially when luck, year, month, and day are displayed together.
- Show calculation convention.
- Attach provenance and duration.
Resolve new and competing relations as a network
The timing branch can complete a three-branch group, repeat a natal symbol, or compete with an existing combination.
Evaluate month command, roots, exact participants, overlapping relations, and counterevidence rather than assigning a single auspiciousness score.
- Enumerate every affected relation.
- Keep enabling and limiting evidence.
Cycles do not schedule guaranteed events
A yearly clash or combination does not prove marriage, pregnancy, separation, profit, illness, relocation, or legal action.
Use real plans, health care, financial analysis, legal advice, and communication for decisions; timing content should remain reflective and conditional.
- No guaranteed event year.
- No fear-based or financial certainty.
