Static and Dynamic Earthly-Branch Effects (地支動靜)
Separate the natal branch structure from time-based activation by luck, year, month, and day, while preserving provenance, duration, and uncertainty.
Overview
Static analysis describes the branch network fixed in the natal chart; dynamic analysis adds a luck pillar, year, month, day, or other defined time layer. Dynamic branches may repeat, complete, compete with, or clash with natal relations, but they do not rewrite the birth chart. Activation describes a symbolic condition, not proof that a concrete event will occur.

Compute a complete natal baseline once
The baseline contains all four natal branches, hidden stems, month command, roots, and candidate relations before any time layer is added.
Freezing this snapshot lets reports explain later changes without silently recalculating or mutating the original chart.

Add one labeled time layer at a time
A dynamic branch should carry its source—luck, year, month, or day—and its exact start and end convention.
Layered analysis prevents an annual branch from being mistaken for a decade-long influence or a natal fact.
- Record source and duration.
- Avoid mixing time resolutions.
Compare what changes and what remains stable
Recalculate only relations involving the added branch while retaining the natal network for comparison.
Report candidates, enabling conditions, contradictions, and expiration instead of reducing the overlay to a single good-or-bad score.

A dynamic relation is not an event schedule
An activated clash or combination cannot guarantee marriage, separation, illness, profit, job change, travel, or legal trouble.
Use calendars and symbolic timing for reflection, not to replace direct planning, evidence, or professional advice.
