Overview

Embryo (胎) is stage eleven of the Twelve Life Stages, between Extinction and Nurture. OpenFate maps it to 甲酉、乙申、丙子、丁亥、戊子、己亥、庚卯、辛寅、壬午、癸巳 and classifies it as weak. 胎 images the first re-forming movement before 養 and 長生. It is not pregnancy or a fetal diagnosis, and it is also distinct from 胎元, the separately derived fetal pillar used by some BaZi traditions.

Embryo names renewed formation inside the cycle

After 絕, the sequence uses 胎 for the first unseen formation before 養 develops and protects it. This is a cosmological analogy for qi movement, not a statement about human reproduction.

Its place near the end of the numbered list is not contradictory: the cycle continues back to 長生 after Nurture.

  • Use 胎 as a stage metaphor only.
  • Read the sequence cyclically, not as a biography.

Embryo has ten exact positions under the adopted convention

The table is 甲酉、乙申、丙子、丁亥、戊子、己亥、庚卯、辛寅、壬午 and 癸巳. A branch must be paired with the chosen reference stem before the stage can be named.

胎元 uses a separate derivation from birth-month data. Similar wording does not authorize substituting one calculation for the other.

  • Verify the full stem–branch lookup.
  • Do not confuse 胎 stage with 胎元.

Weak is a local stage class, not reproductive evidence

OpenFate may show 胎 in Star Fortune or Sitting Stage and labels it weak in the stage classification. The implementation does not connect that label to fertility or pregnancy status.

All pillars, hidden stems, roots and Ten Gods remain present. Publishing the page adds no fetal-pillar calculation and changes no report.

  • Keep the output non-medical.
  • Do not add or infer a fetal pillar.

Embryo cannot answer pregnancy or child questions

胎 cannot prove conception, pregnancy, miscarriage, fetal sex, fetal health, number of children, parenting ability, creative potential, a new project or delayed development.

Reproductive and pediatric concerns require qualified medical care. Do not offer reassurance, alarm or treatment advice from this stage.

  • No fertility, pregnancy or fetal-health claim.
  • Refer real medical concerns to clinicians.
