Overview
A Bazi structure or pattern, 格局, organizes the chart around a coherent relation among month command, exposed and rooted Ten Gods, strength, and transformation. Standard patterns often begin from the month command; special patterns require their own complete rules. Naming a pattern is a hypothesis about structure, not proof of quality, wealth, rank, or rarity.

Start from an explicit structural rule
For standard Ziping patterns, identify the Month Branch, its hidden stems, what is exposed, and which Ten God role becomes structurally central.
For special patterns, cite the exact source rule and verify every required and excluding condition. Similar appearance is not enough.
- Name the pattern family first.
- Use the correct formation checklist.
Formation, damage, and rescue are separate
A candidate pattern may form cleanly, be mixed by a competing role, be damaged by a relation, or regain function through a rescuing path.
Show the actual stems, branches, roots, and relations behind each status. A slogan cannot replace the evidence map.
- List formation and failure conditions.
- Identify any valid rescue mechanism.
Pattern validity is not pattern quality
A valid label can still be weak, obstructed, unavailable, or unsuitable in the complete chart. Conversely, an imperfect pattern may function through support and timing.
Useful-god and strength methods may add different questions. Keep their conclusions distinct rather than blending them into one grade.

Do not convert pattern names into social rank
Officer, Wealth, Resource, Following, or special-pattern names do not prove occupation, income, power, virtue, or destiny level.
Use patterns to organize traditional analysis and keep real-world outcomes conditional on context, choices, and direct evidence.
