What Is a Bazi Natal Chart? (命局)
Understand what Ming Ju means in Bazi, which calculated and derived layers belong to the natal chart, and how it differs from later luck-cycle influences.
Overview
A Bazi natal chart, or 命局, is the four-pillar structure calculated for the resolved birth instant together with its derived stem, branch, hidden-stem, Ten God, strength, and relation data. It is the baseline against which luck cycles are compared. The term describes a technical model, not an unchangeable life verdict.

The natal chart begins with immutable birth pairs
Once the input and calculation conventions are fixed, the four natal pillars do not change with age or a new reading.
Derived data should always be traceable to these pairs and the declared rule version. A narrative cannot alter the calculated chart.

The chart becomes analytically useful when season, roots, Ten Gods, combinations, clashes, and pattern candidates are connected in one evidence graph.

A Luck Pillar or annual pillar can add symbols, activate relations, or shift effective balance for a defined period.
