Heavenly Stems in Luck Cycles and Annual Influences (歲運天干)

Overview

A luck-pillar or annual Heavenly Stem adds a temporary visible function to the natal stem network. Read it by deriving its relation to the natal Day Stem, checking its branch support, then testing generation, control, clash, combination, competition, and access to natal stems. The luck cycle sets a broader period and the annual stem narrows the window, but neither proves that a real-world event will occur.

Stabilize the natal network before adding timing

Record the natal stems, month command, roots, and unresolved or completed relations first.

Without that baseline, the same arriving stem can be interpreted inconsistently and temporary support may be mistaken for a natal property.

  • Preserve natal state.
  • Do not backfill timing into birth data.

Read the arriving stem with its own branch

Derive the arriving stem’s Ten-God relation to the natal Day Stem, then inspect whether the luck or annual branch supports it.

A visible timing stem without support may behave differently from the same stem arriving with a strong root or seasonal advantage.

  • Read the complete timing pillar.
  • Check support before meaning.

Resolve contacts across luck and annual layers

Test whether the arriving stem generates, controls, clashes, combines, or competes with natal and luck-layer stems.

State which layer supplies the participant and avoid double counting one relation as both natal and annual evidence.

  • Label every time layer.
  • Resolve competition once.

Activation narrows attention, not certainty

A timing stem may make a chart relation more available, but it cannot prove promotion, marriage, illness, loss, profit, or conflict.

Use actual circumstances and qualified guidance for legal, medical, financial, employment, and safety decisions.

  • No event guarantee from arrival.
  • Validate predictions against reality.
