Malavya Yoga: Venus Conditions Without Outcome Promises
Learn Malavya yoga’s Venus-in-sign and lagna-quadrant conditions, with a Pisces example and clear limits on appearance and relationship claims.
Overview
Malavya yoga is the Venus member of the five Mahapurusha yogas. Its basic test requires Venus in Taurus, Libra or Pisces and in a quadrant from lagna.

The Venus sign is only half the check
Taurus and Libra are Venus’s own signs in this framework; Pisces is its exaltation sign. Malavya additionally requires a lagna-based quadrant. A seventh-house Venus in a different sign does not satisfy the stated sign condition.
Search descriptions often pair this yoga with comfort or attraction. Those associations do not measure appearance, consent, possessions or relationship quality. Start with the specified placement rather than retrofitting a flattering description.
One Venus placement, two lagna references
Take Venus at 14° Pisces with Virgo lagna. Pisces is seventh from Virgo, so both parts of the Malavya test pass. The base rule refers to the exaltation sign, not only the exact deepest-exaltation degree.
Change lagna to Leo while keeping Venus fixed. Pisces is eighth, so the quadrant condition fails. The changed result comes from the reference house, not from Venus becoming a different planet or the person losing an attractive quality.
A chart flag is not a relationship assessment
Rao §11.4.4 gives the sign-and-quadrant definition under the spelling Maalavya. Retain the spelling as an alias while using one canonical page; aliases should not create duplicate pages with the same reader task.
Additional aspects or planetary conditions may enter a named school’s interpretation, but they need separate evidence. A confirmed Malavya placement cannot establish fidelity, compatibility or financial security, and should not be used to override what partners say or do.
