Sasa Yoga: Saturn’s Sign and Quadrant Test
Verify Sasa yoga through Saturn’s qualifying sign and house from lagna. Compare a passing Aquarius case with a failed reference-house case.
Overview
Sasa yoga, also spelled Shasha, uses Saturn in Capricorn, Aquarius or Libra and a quadrant from lagna. Saturn’s reputation or motion does not replace that structural test.

Check Saturn rather than a career stereotype
Saturn qualifies by its own signs Capricorn and Aquarius or its exaltation sign Libra, together with the quadrant condition. A claim that Saturn is powerful or difficult is too vague to establish Sasa.
The traditional name is not a certification of leadership or endurance. Job responsibilities, resources and choices are real-world information; this page identifies the documented configuration without using it to assign someone a profession or social position.
Aquarius is not tenth from every lagna
With Taurus lagna and Saturn at 23° Aquarius, Aquarius is tenth from lagna and a Saturn-owned sign. The basic Sasa test passes even though the degree falls outside the first 20° Aquarius moolatrikona interval used elsewhere in Rao.
With Sagittarius lagna, the same Aquarius placement is third, so this yoga’s quadrant test fails. Ownership remains unchanged. Separating these fields prevents a software report from confusing a dignity label with a house-dependent yoga.
Keep motion and interpretive modifiers visible
Retrograde Saturn still needs the same explicit sign and reference-house inspection. The cited base definition does not license an automatic retrograde cancellation or a universal age of activation; either additional claim needs a different, precise source.
Rao §11.4.3 describes Sasa chiefly in D1 and counts from lagna, not the Moon. Confirming that definition cannot guarantee authority, longevity or success; it also does not demonstrate a harmful personality.
