Bazi in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres
Understand what remains astronomically fixed in Southern Hemisphere Bazi charts, what local inputs still change and why season reversal is a method debate.
Overview
The Sun reaches each ecliptic-longitude target at one global instant, so the canonical order of the twenty-four solar terms and the twelve Bazi month branches does not reverse when a birthplace is south of the equator. Location still matters: the historical time zone, longitude, local clock date and any declared true-solar-time correction can change which side of a boundary contains the birth. Physical seasons are opposite between hemispheres, and schools debate how that observation should affect interpretation, strength or climate language. Solar-longitude crossings retain one global order
Each solar term is defined by the Sun reaching a specified apparent ecliptic longitude. The instant can be displayed in different local time zones, but the astronomical sequence itself does not run backward south of the equator.
The twelve Jie therefore continue to open Yin through Chou months in the canonical order. Reversing the branch sequence would create a different system, not a location correction.

Hemisphere does not remove the need for precise local inputs
Birthplace determines the historical UTC offset and longitude used by any true-solar-time option. A term instant may fall on different civil dates in Sydney, Taipei or New York even though it is the same event.
Near a boundary, compare resolved instants rather than season names. Latitude alone does not determine a time-zone offset or a Day Pillar.

Opposite physical seasons create an interpretive, not chronological, debate
Southern summer coincides with Northern winter, so practitioners disagree about whether conventional seasonal-strength and climate metaphors should be adapted. That question concerns interpretive models after the pillars are calculated.
A responsible page states which school it follows, distinguishes astronomical boundaries from climatic analogy and avoids claiming that hemisphere alone produces an element, temperament or fate.

If a sourced alternative is offered for study, it should appear as a separate comparison with the changed rule and consequences visible. Results from the two methods must not be combined into one interpretation.
