Overview

Twins born in the same effective two-hour interval can legitimately share all Four Pillars. That is not a calculation failure: Bazi encodes a shared temporal structure rather than a unique personal identifier or a complete deterministic biography. Each twin should still have an individual birth record, because an hour, day or Jie boundary between deliveries can change one or more pillars. When the pillars match, interpretation should distinguish shared chart conditions from later environment, choices, health, relationships and lived experience; it should not invent arbitrary minute offsets, reverse the chart or assign unsupported older-twin and younger-twin formulas merely to force a difference.

Calculate both records even when the times look close

Store the actual time, place, source and precision for each twin. Do not copy the first chart to the second before checking the complete boundary pipeline.

A few minutes usually leave the Four Pillars unchanged, but a documented separation can cross a double-hour, the chosen day change or an exact solar-term instant. Only an actual boundary justifies a different pillar.

  • Keep the two source records distinct.
  • Compare the resolved pillars after all time rules.

Matching pillars are a valid and informative result

The Four Pillars have finite temporal resolution. Two people born within the same intervals can share the same eight characters, whether or not they are twins.

Bazi therefore should not be presented as a biometric identifier or a guarantee of identical events. A shared chart describes a common symbolic time framework that still requires individual context.

  • Do not treat a match as an engine defect.
  • State the resolution and limits of the model.

Separate shared chart structure from individual evidence

The same Day Master, seasonal balance and relationships can be discussed as shared conditions. Individual history, family roles, health, education, choices and later environments should be gathered separately rather than inferred as identical.

Timing cycles may also be implemented differently by school and sex-based convention; any such rule must be declared and applied consistently, not selected after comparing life stories.

  • Label chart-derived and person-specific statements.
  • Do not use hindsight to rewrite the birth data.

Do not force difference with undocumented twin formulas

Some modern discussions propose shifting the younger twin’s hour, reversing a chart or assigning special sibling markers. These are school-specific claims, not a substitute for the recorded timestamps.
