Overview

For an overseas birth, begin with the date and clock time recorded at the birth location. Resolve that location’s historical IANA time zone to a definite instant, then apply the declared solar-term, true-solar-time and day-boundary rules. Do not first rewrite the birth as Beijing time and then treat that converted clock as local. Half-hour and quarter-hour zones, daylight-saving transitions and International Date Line differences are ordinary civil-time data, not exceptions to the Four-Pillars cycle.

Preserve the date and time as recorded locally

A birth certificate or family record normally uses the civil clock in effect at the birthplace. Store that source value before any conversion.

Manually adding or subtracting hours can lose the local date, daylight-saving occurrence and provenance. The zone library should perform the conversion.

  • Keep the original local timestamp.
  • Do not overwrite it with a converted display time.

International zones are not limited to whole hours

Some locations use thirty- or forty-five-minute offsets, and historical rules may differ from today. The named IANA zone resolves those details for the birth date.

Near clock transitions or the International Date Line, the same wall-clock label may be invalid, repeated or on a different UTC date. These cases need explicit validation.

  • Accept non-integer UTC offsets.
  • Flag gaps and repeated times.

After normalization, apply the same Bazi contract

The normalized instant is compared with exact solar terms for the Year and Month Pillars. Any selected solar-time correction uses the birthplace longitude; the Day and Hour Pillars use the saved day-boundary mode.

The procedure does not move the person to China conceptually. It uses one reproducible calculation policy across locations.

  • Use birthplace coordinates for solar correction.
  • Keep every convention visible.

Overseas birth does not create a special destiny category

Country of birth does not add a Five Phase, Ten God or fortune score. Cultural context may shape a person’s life, but it is not inferred from the time-zone conversion.

If place or time records conflict, present candidate charts. Do not choose a location or offset because it produces a preferred interpretation.

  • No national stereotype in the reading.
  • No result-shopping between time zones.
