Uncertain Birth Time in Bazi
Model an approximate Bazi birth time as an interval, identify stable and boundary-sensitive pillars, and avoid turning incomplete records into false precision.
Overview
An uncertain birth time should be represented as the interval supported by the source record, not silently rounded to one minute. Calculate every distinct chart that the interval can produce after historical time-zone and solar-time rules. Separate facts that remain stable from the Hour Pillar, Day Pillar or solar-term boundary results that can change. Birth-time rectification may rank candidates using documented evidence, but it cannot convert weak memories into certainty.

Preserve what the source actually says
“Around dawn,” “between 9 and 11,” and “10:30 on a certificate” have different precision. Store the wording, source and plausible range before calculation.
Do not replace an approximate memory with 10:00 merely because the interface requires a clock value. The data model should preserve the interval.

Normalize the interval using birthplace zone and any declared solar-time setting, then split it where an Hour Branch, day boundary or solar term can change the chart.

Year, Month and Day Pillars may remain stable when only the hour is uncertain. Relations involving the Hour Pillar, however, cannot be stated as confirmed.
A useful report marks which claims survive all candidates and which depend on one interval. Scores or prose should not average incompatible charts into a fictional result.

Rectification remains an inference with residual uncertainty
Life-event matching can be affected by memory error, broad descriptions and confirmation bias. It can support a ranked candidate, but not prove a minute-level birth time.
