Can Auspicious and Inauspicious Fate Stars Offset?
Learn why auspicious and inauspicious Shen Sha cannot be netted into a score, and how each marker must be evaluated through its own rule and context.
Overview
Traditional labels such as auspicious star and adverse marker are not commensurable points. One marker does not cancel another merely because their names have opposite valence. Each result retains its source rule, carrier, pillar, structural contact, timing, and limits. Conflicts are resolved by stronger direct chart evidence, not by adding plus and minus totals.

- No fortune-risk total
Treat auspicious and adverse as historical labels
The words summarize traditional associations; they do not create a shared numeric scale.
Two markers can refer to different symbols, pillars, time layers, or questions and therefore cannot be compared as equal units.
- Do not invent point values.
- Keep each marker’s original rule.
Audit each marker independently
Verify its anchor, target, position, source version, structural contact, and active dates.
A weak or irrelevant marker may receive little narrative weight even if its name sounds strongly favorable or ominous.
- Assess relevance before valence.
- Use the same evidence standard for both.
Resolve conflict through the chart, not arithmetic
Month Command, strength, structure, Ten Gods, and actual relations determine which functions are operative.
The result can retain two conditional observations rather than forcing one to cancel the other.
- Allow coexistence.
- Explain why one clue is more relevant.
Reject composite destiny scores
A net positive or negative Shen Sha score has no universal classical unit and can create false certainty.
Do not use such totals for health, finance, hiring, compatibility, safety, or legal choices.
- No overall luck percentage.
- No automated high-stakes ranking.
