Overview

The most common Fate-Star errors are procedural: using the wrong pillar, mixing schools without attribution, dropping target placement, counting one match repeatedly, reading a name as an event, adding auspicious and adverse scores, ignoring expiry dates, or letting auxiliary markers override core structure. A fixed evidence record and publication boundary prevents each error.

Do not use the wrong anchor or partial table

Confirm whether the rule begins from the Day Stem, Year Stem, Day Branch, or Year Branch and which positions may be scanned.

A plausible-looking match outside that scope is still a false positive.

  • Validate the full rule tuple.
  • Test boundary and alternate-anchor cases.

Do not merge schools or count one fact twice

Keep each table version attributed and preserve separate evidence paths when variants overlap.

Deduplicate a shared carrier or label at the narrative layer so catalog volume does not inflate certainty.

  • Version every rule set.
  • Deduplicate without discarding provenance.

Do not translate the name into biography

Peach Blossom is not proof of an affair, Travelling Horse is not a guaranteed move, and an adverse name is not a diagnosis or disaster notice.

Read only the bounded context supported by placement, structure, timing, and actual facts.

  • Remove fear and flattery shortcuts.
  • No sensitive-person inference.

Do not let auxiliary markers lead the chart

Complete the deterministic chart, Month Command, strength, Ten Gods, structure, useful functions, and stem-branch relations first.

Then retain only Shen Sha clues that are sourced, relevant, time-bounded, and consistent with the evidence hierarchy.

  • Use a fixed reading order.
  • No decorative marker dumping.
