Cross-Reading Fate Stars and the Ten Gods (神煞與十神)
Cross-read a Shen Sha marker with the actual Ten God carried by its stem or hidden stem without merging two independent rule systems.
Overview
Fate Stars and Ten Gods are calculated differently. Shen Sha comes from a source-specific lookup table; Ten Gods come from Five-Phase and polarity relations to the Day Master. A cross-reading first verifies both outputs independently, then asks whether they share a pillar, stem, branch, hidden stem, structural path, or timing contact. Neither system manufactures the other.
At a glance
- Shen Sha basis
- Source lookup table
- Ten-God basis
- Day-Master phase and polarity relation
- Join keys
- Shared symbol, pillar, path or timing
- Required order
- Calculate both independently
- Valid result
- Conditional combined context
- Boundary
- No personality or event certainty
Derive the two systems independently
Calculate the marker from its declared anchor-target table and derive every Ten God from the Day Master.
A favorable-sounding marker cannot turn a stem into Resource, Wealth, Officer, Output, or Companion.
- Keep formulas separate.
- Store provenance for both outputs.
Find an actual shared chart object
Check whether the marker carrier contains or contacts the Ten-God stem, hidden stem, palace, or timing layer being discussed.
If the systems do not meet on a concrete chart relation, present them separately instead of inventing a synthesis.
- Require a visible join path.
- Do not combine by keyword similarity.
Evaluate capacity through the core chart
Season, roots, exposure, strength, pattern, combinations, clashes, and competing roles determine whether the Ten-God function can operate.
The marker may add historical context, but it cannot rescue a nonfunctional Ten-God path by name alone.
- Let structure determine capacity.
- Preserve contrary evidence.
Avoid compound stereotypes
Combining a marker name with a Ten-God label can easily create unsupported claims about character, sexuality, money, authority, family, or health.
Use neutral structural language and require observed evidence for personal claims.
- No label multiplication.
- Protect third-party privacy.
