Compare Shen Sha schools through attributed tables, anchor rules, target scope, naming, weighting, and interpretation instead of silently merging variants.
Overview
Fate-Star catalogs differ across texts, editions, lineages, and modern applications. Variants may change which markers are included, whether Year or Day anchors are used, which pillars are scanned, how duplicates are handled, and how much narrative weight is allowed. A scalable system versions each rule set and publishes the adopted convention without calling it universal.

Expect different marker catalogs
One source may omit a marker, divide it into variants, or use a different name for a related formula.
Catalog size is not evidence that one school is more accurate or complete.

- Do not create a universal list by accumulation.
Compare anchors and targets line by line
A variant may use the Year Branch where another uses the Day Branch, or limit targets differently.
These differences change the calculated output and must be represented as separate rule versions.

Publish the adopted product convention
State which table OpenFate uses for a displayed result, its source locator, and whether alternate variants are supported.
Migration between versions should preserve previously frozen reports or clearly label recalculated output.

Treat disagreement as scholarship, not certainty
School variation should be disclosed without attacking other traditions or hiding ambiguity.
No variant earns authority to make unsupported medical, legal, financial, safety, or personal claims.
