How Combinations and Clashes Affect Fate Stars (合沖)
Evaluate combinations and clashes on the actual stem or branch carrying a Shen Sha without deleting, activating, or transforming the marker by slogan.
Overview
A Fate Star is a lookup annotation attached to a real stem, branch, pillar, or timing symbol. Combinations, clashes, punishments, harms, and breaks act on those actual chart symbols; they may change connection, prominence, continuity, or timing, but they do not automatically erase or fulfill the traditional marker. The underlying relation must be computed first.

Locate the real symbol beneath the label
Identify the exact branch or stem that matched the Fate-Star table and the pillar or timing layer that contains it.
The marker itself is not a separate celestial object that can be combined or clashed independently.
- Operate on chart symbols, not badges.
- Keep the lookup annotation attached.
Calculate the stem-branch relation normally
Verify the canonical pair or set, layer, distance, season, strength, overlap, and competing relations.
A detected clash or combination can coexist with other relations and does not mechanically cancel the marker.
- Use the standard interaction engine.
- Preserve partial and unresolved states.
Describe the bounded structural effect
Contact may make the carrier more visible, redirect its connection, weaken continuity, or introduce a temporary trigger.
State the evidence for that change and avoid phrases such as “clash makes it happen” or “combination removes it.”

- Separate timing from outcome.
Do not compound frightening labels
An adverse marker plus a clash does not multiply catastrophe, illness, violence, betrayal, or loss.
High-stakes claims require direct evidence and cannot be inferred from stacked traditional names.
