Overview

A fixed lookup order prevents missed markers, duplicate counting, and silent mixing of schools. First verify the Four Pillars and timing layer, then select a source table, group rules by anchor type, scan every permitted target once, preserve pillar placement, and separate raw matches from later structural interpretation.

At a glance

Step 1
Verify chart and layer
Step 2
Lock source table
Step 3
Group anchor types
Step 4
Scan valid targets once
Step 5
Deduplicate with placement retained
Step 6
Interpret after structure

Freeze the chart and requested time layer

Keep natal pillars separate from Luck Pillar and annual symbols before starting the scan.

The same marker found in a natal branch and a temporary branch represents two records with different durations.

  • Identify the chart layer first.
  • Attach dates to temporary matches.

Process one anchor family at a time

Group Day-Stem, Year-Stem, Day-Branch, and Year-Branch rules instead of jumping between unrelated tables.

For each family, record the anchor once and inspect all authorized target positions in a stable pillar order.

  • Use Year, Month, Day, Hour order.
  • Do not substitute a different anchor.

Preserve placement while removing duplicate claims

If two rules return the same marker through different valid anchors, retain both evidence paths but avoid presenting them as two independent events.

If one marker appears in several pillars, store each placement and count the repetition only once at the interpretation layer.

  • Deduplicate labels, not evidence.
  • Keep anchor and target provenance.

Move from table facts to bounded meaning

After the raw scan, compare only relevant markers with structure, strength, Ten Gods, relationships, and the user’s question.

Markers with no clear contact or evidential value can remain in the technical record without being promoted into the narrative.

  • Use relevance, not catalog volume.
  • Do not force every marker into prose.
