Rashi means a zodiac sign in the chart vocabulary used here. In some everyday questions, “my rashi” refers to the Moon’s sign; “rashi chart” refers to D1. These usages are related but do not ask for the same output.

Convert between two ways of writing a position
An invented total sidereal longitude of 187°25′ is Libra7°25′ because Libra begins at180°. The rashi is Libra; 7°25′ is the progress within that sign. Neither number is automatically a house number.

If a report’s Sun and Moon occupy different signs, asking only for a rashi is ambiguous. Specify the Moon, Sun or ascendant and the sidereal mode. Do not overwrite all three labels with one preferred identity.
A D1 rashi chart contains more than the Moon’s position. It is therefore not interchangeable with a single-sign calculator result, even when both interfaces use the word rashi.
A sector is not a character measurement
Changing ayanamsa can change a boundary-near rashi label while keeping the birth record fixed. Investigate the coordinate convention before choosing whichever personality description sounds better.
Rao’s sign table supports the intervals, not a guarantee that all people in a sector share measured traits. Retain the original longitude and mode to investigate why two labels differ.
