Strong Self vs Weak Self (身強身弱) in Bazi

Understand Day-Master strength as a chart-wide evidence judgment using season, roots and support—not a personality label or visible element count.

Overview

Strong Self vs Weak Self (身強身弱) compares the Day Master’s effective support and drainage across the chart. A defensible judgment begins with Month Command and seasonal qi, then checks roots, visible and hidden support, output, wealth, officer–killing pressure, combinations and clashes. It is a spectrum and method-dependent conclusion, not a count of matching characters. “Strong” does not mean physically strong, dominant or fortunate, and “weak” does not mean sick, timid, poor or inferior.

Strength describes the Day Master’s chart support

The question is whether the Day Master can receive, express and withstand the other relations in its seasonal and structural setting. It does not describe willpower or body type.

Different schools use different thresholds, so a reliable conclusion should expose the evidence and method instead of presenting a mysterious score.

  • Keep the Day Master as the reference.
  • State the method and confidence of the conclusion.

Season, roots and effective support outrank character counting

Month Command establishes the seasonal environment. Roots in branches, visible companions and resources, hidden stems and their availability then refine support.

Output, wealth and officer–killing relations drain or control under specific conditions. Combinations and clashes may alter access to evidence without simply deleting a character.

  • Read month command before totals.
  • Distinguish visible presence from effective support.

OpenFate separates strength evidence from downstream advice

The engine and reports preserve the factors used for strength reasoning. Twelve Life Stage tags and element charts remain secondary displays rather than shortcuts to the conclusion.

Useful-element or pattern recommendations must cite their own rules. A strength label alone does not select a favorable color, job, partner or purchase.

  • Do not substitute Twelve Life Stages for strength.
  • Require a separate model for recommendations.

Strong and weak do not rank health, personality or success

身強 does not prove confidence, aggression, fitness or prosperity, while 身弱 does not prove illness, dependence, anxiety, poverty or failure.

Medical, employment, financial and relationship judgments need direct evidence. These technical labels must not be used to shame or exclude a person.

  • No health or personality diagnosis.
  • No ranking of worth or future success.
