Overview
Unfavorable God (忌神) is a function judged to obstruct or destabilize a chart’s stated strategy under a declared method. The label depends on the same evidence chain used to select the Useful God: season, strength, pattern, climate or relational flow as applicable. It can change with method and context, and the relevant phase is not inherently evil. 忌神 does not make a person, year, partner, occupation or place bad, nor does it prove illness, loss or disaster.

忌神 names an obstructing function within a method
A phase or relation is unfavorable only because it interferes with the selected regulation or structure under stated conditions.
The same phase may have a different role in another chart or under another method. The label should never be treated as a moral category.
- Name the strategy being obstructed.
- Keep the judgment chart-specific.
The adverse role must follow the same evidence chain as 用神
Season, roots, strength, structure, climate and flow are considered only as required by the declared approach. One excess count or one clash is insufficient.
A candidate may be adverse in one relation but useful in another. Competing evidence and transformation conditions must remain visible.
