Weak Self (身弱) in Bazi
Learn how 身弱 describes relatively limited Day Master support, what evidence must be weighed, and why weak is not a diagnosis or judgment of character.
Overview
Weak Self (身弱) means that the Day Master is assessed as relatively under-supported within a stated Bazi strength method. Month Command, roots, Resource and peers are weighed against Output, Wealth, Authority and other effective relations. The label is contextual and can change when a school, threshold or timing layer changes; special following patterns must be tested separately. Weak does not mean sick, timid, incapable, poor or unlucky, and it cannot be diagnosed from element counts alone.

A weak assessment means available support is limited relative to effective draining and controlling forces under the selected method.
It is not established by one absent element, one unfavorable season or a visual count. Every cited factor must remain traceable.

Weakness must be distinguished from special following structures
Roots, Month Command, Resource, peers and transformations can change the assessment. Apparent support may be ineffective, while hidden support may be material.
An extremely one-sided chart may be evaluated under a following-pattern doctrine, but resemblance alone is insufficient. Formation and failure rules must be checked.
- Test roots and seasonal effectiveness.
- Do not label every very weak chart as a following pattern.
