Worked example and stop rule
Suppose Ding appears in the Hour Stem of a winter chart, Jia is visible in the Month Stem, no Si or Wu root is present, and Ren Water remains strong. The chart shows visible Fire with Wood support, but also weak seasonal support, no stated root, and Water pressure. That evidence does not yet establish that Fire is strong or favorable.
A near-miss is a summer chart with Bing visible and both Si and Wu present. Its Fire is more clearly rooted and seasonally supported, yet usefulness still depends on the Day Master, Earth output, Water regulation, and the question being asked.
