Identify a broken or obstructed elemental path through missing capacity, excessive control, combination, distance, or lack of an outlet without literalizing blockage.

Overview

Five-Element blockage describes a proposed functional path that cannot proceed effectively. Evidence may include a missing or powerless intermediary, excessive control, an unavailable root, a combination that redirects a participant, or an outlet that cannot receive the flow. The interpreter must name the expected path and the exact interruption; “blockage” is not a diagnosis, personality label, or inevitable life obstacle.

Define the path before calling it blocked

State which source should connect to which recipient and why that connection matters under the chosen method.

If no coherent source-to-outlet path is expected, absence of circulation is not evidence of a blockage.

  • Name the expected function.
  • Avoid labels without a reference path.

Locate the exact interruption

Check whether the source lacks roots, the intermediary is controlled, the participants are too distant, or another relation redirects access.

Then test whether a second root, exposed stem, combination, or timing influence restores part of the path.

  • Identify one concrete interruption.
  • Search for bypass and restoration evidence.

Blockage can be local and conditional

A single Ten God function can be obstructed while other chart paths remain active. The whole chart should not inherit one local label.

Luck pillars and annual influences may temporarily support or obstruct a link, but those conditions do not rewrite the natal structure.

  • Limit the label to its scope.
  • Separate natal and timing states.

五行阻滯 cannot identify blood flow, organs, trauma, depression, infertility, poverty, legal barriers, or relationship failure.
