Reading Boundaries of the Day-Pillar Palace (日柱宮位)
Distinguish the Day Master, Day Branch, spouse-palace convention, and complete Day Pillar while preserving relationship, privacy, and consent boundaries.
Overview
The Day Pillar contains the Day Master above the Day Branch. The Day Master is the reference for Ten Gods, while the Day Branch is the immediate seat and is traditionally called the spouse palace. These functions are related but not interchangeable. The position can frame self and partnership questions, yet it cannot reveal a partner’s identity, consent, health, fidelity, legal status, or relationship outcome.

Separate Day Master from Day Branch
The Day Stem supplies the chart’s relational reference. The Day Branch supplies an immediate base, hidden stems, and branch interactions. Together they form the Day Pillar but perform different technical jobs.
Identify the same-pillar Five Phase relation and then map each component to the rest of the chart. Do not assign one label to the whole pair.

Keep the spouse-palace label contextual
Traditional methods call the Day Branch the spouse palace and combine it with relevant Six-Relative stars, combinations, clashes, and timing. The label indicates a reading location, not a literal resident.
A branch cannot establish whether someone is partnered, married, compatible, faithful, safe, or willing. Relationship claims require real communication and consent.

Do not reduce identity to one pillar
The Day Pillar can support discussion of immediate orientation or relationship context, but the Month season, roots, other stems and branches, pattern, and timing remain essential.
People sharing one of sixty Day Pillars do not share one personality, body, marriage, profession, or fate. A Day-Pillar grade is likewise school-specific, not a universal rank.

Protect sensitive relationship decisions
Do not use Day Palace symbolism to accuse, surveil, exclude, pressure, or diagnose a partner. It is not evidence for divorce, marriage, fertility, sexuality, abuse, or legal status.
For safety or relationship concerns, rely on direct facts and qualified support. Bazi may structure reflection but cannot replace those sources.
