What is the difference between Direct and Indirect Wealth?
Distinguish Direct Wealth and Indirect Wealth by polarity, position, and whole-chart function—not by simplistic salary, windfall, steady, or speculative labels.
Overview
Direct Wealth and Indirect Wealth are the two Ten-God categories formed when the Day Master controls another element. Their distinction is calculated from polarity: one has opposite polarity to the Day Master and the other shares it. Traditional shorthand often associates them with different modes of allocation or exchange, but it does not create a reliable salary-versus-windfall, cautious-versus-speculative, or employee-versus-entrepreneur divide. Position, season, roots, access, pattern, useful functions, interactions, and real financial evidence determine what can responsibly be said.

Derive both categories from element and polarity
First identify the element controlled by the Day Master. Compare yin and yang polarity to classify each visible or hidden occurrence as Direct Wealth or Indirect Wealth.
Keep the same calculation across natal and timing layers. Do not classify an actual payment, asset, or person by guessing from its social label.
- Show element control before polarity.
- Apply one reproducible Ten-God rule.
Read mode only after checking the whole configuration
Review month command, Day-Master capacity, roots, positions, pattern, useful functions, Output source, Companions, Officer governance, storage, combinations, and clashes.
Either category can operate through regular or irregular arrangements depending on the chart and real environment. A name does not determine frequency, legality, size, or reliability.
- Describe access and conditions for each occurrence.
- Avoid treating polarity as a financial product.
Translate the distinction into bounded questions
Ask how resources are acquired, documented, allocated, retained, shared, taxed, and governed in the actual situation. Compare contracts, ownership, volatility, liquidity, and responsibilities.
Use the distinction to organize inquiry, not to bypass budgets, due diligence, risk assessment, or professional advice.
- Use concrete transactions and ownership records.
- Validate symbolic hypotheses with financial facts.
Reject salary and windfall stereotypes
Direct Wealth does not guarantee wages, thrift, marriage, or stable income. Indirect Wealth does not guarantee business, speculation, inheritance, popularity, or unexpected gains.
Neither category establishes financial competence, honesty, creditworthiness, risk tolerance, net worth, or investment suitability.
- Do not predict an income source from polarity.
- Do not profile financial behavior from a Ten God.
