Overview

The Day Pillar (日柱) contains the day stem and branch. The stem is the Day Master and the reference point for every Ten God; the branch is its seat, and some schools call it the Spouse Palace (夫妻宮). They must not be collapsed into one personality or marriage label. Validate the day calculation, then examine hidden stems, season, roots, branch relations, and the whole chart while keeping spouse stars separate. One person’s Day Pillar cannot identify a partner, establish fidelity, predict marriage or divorce, or decide a relationship for both people.

Separate the Day Master, Day Branch, and complete pillar

The day stem is the Day Master. The day branch contains hidden stems and branch relations, while the complete Day Pillar is the two-character pair.

Calling the day branch a Spouse Palace is a palace convention. It does not turn the branch into an actual partner or make the entire pillar marriage data.

  • Display the stem and branch as distinct fields.
  • Label the Spouse Palace as a traditional context.

Read structure first and spouse-role stars second

After validating the day, examine hidden stems, the Month Command, roots, same-pillar dynamics, and combinations, clashes, punishments, harms, and breaks with other branches.

Spouse stars are Ten-God role mappings and require their own location and strength record. An overlap with the day branch is layered evidence, not a reason to score the symbol twice.

  • State which layer supports each observation.
  • Show support, counterevidence, and uncertainty.

Relationship quality requires both people and real context

Responsible relationship assessment needs consent, communication, values, boundaries, power, and safety information from real life. With one chart, discuss only that person’s question framework.

A two-chart comparison must keep both charts and interaction evidence distinct. One person’s Spouse Palace is not a personality test for the other person.

  • Avoid profiling an absent third party.
  • Let observed behavior override symbolism.

Reject partner identification and marriage fatalism

A Day Pillar cannot identify a destined partner or establish appearance, profession, wealth, fidelity, violence, fertility, health, or a number of marriages.

It cannot guarantee marriage, separation, reunion, infidelity, or safety. Legal, medical, financial, and personal-safety decisions require direct evidence and professional help.

  • Do not predict certain relationship events.
  • Never use a chart to excuse control or harm.
