What Is Direct Wealth in BaZi?
Direct Wealth is the element controlled by the Day Master with opposite polarity. Learn its formula, carrying capacity and links with Output and Companions.
Overview
Direct Wealth is the Ten God controlled by the Day Master with opposite polarity, such as Ji Earth for a Jia Wood Day Master. It describes a resource relationship, not cash or salary; usefulness depends on roots, flow and the Day Master’s capacity.

How is Direct Wealth identified?
Find the element controlled by the Day Master and compare polarity. Jia yang Wood controls Ji yin Earth, so Ji is Direct Wealth. Yi yin Wood controls Wu yang Earth, making Wu its Direct Wealth.
“Wealth” is a traditional structural label rather than an account balance. It can support discussions of resources, exchange and management, but income claims require the whole chart, timing and real financial information.

Why more Wealth is not automatically better
A Wealth star may be prominent when seasonally supported, rooted or exposed. If the Day Master is too weak to control and carry it, abundant Wealth can represent a structurally demanding drain rather than an automatic advantage.
Check pillar placement, storage, clashes and combinations, together with roots and Resource or Companion support for the Day Master. Counting Wealth symbols ignores their unequal seasonal and positional weight.

Output generates Wealth and Companions compete
Eating God and Hurting Officer are generated by the Day Master and can generate Wealth in turn. A usable Output-to-Wealth flow requires all participating elements to have strength and connection.
Friend and Rob Wealth share the Day Master’s element and can compete over the controlled Wealth element. When the Day Master is weak, however, Companions may first provide needed support, so they are not fixed loss indicators.

Can Direct Wealth describe work or relationships?
Direct Wealth can provide a structural clue about managing resources and exchange. Career or relationship applications require relevant houses, other Ten Gods and timing rather than the Wealth star alone.
