Direct Resource is the element that generates the Day Master with opposite polarity, such as Gui Water for Jia Wood. It describes support received by the Day Master, not guaranteed education, protection or family outcomes; the whole chart decides whether that support is needed.

How is Direct Resource identified?
Find the element that generates the Day Master and compare polarity. Water generates Wood: Gui yin Water is Direct Resource to Jia yang Wood, while Ren yang Water is Direct Resource to Yi yin Wood.
Resource describes the “produces me” relation. Education, credentials, a mother figure or assistance are traditional extensions, not part of the calculation and not guaranteed by the star.

When is Resource support useful?
