Overview

Each Five-Element relationship to the Day Master has two Ten-God forms distinguished by polarity. The polarity comparison is fixed and produces names such as Friend versus Rob Wealth or Eating God versus Hurting Officer. It refines relational structure but does not rank one label as stronger, better, male, female, active, or passive.

Polarity is not strength or gender

Compare polarity inside the same phase direction

The relationship direction must remain fixed before polarity can distinguish the two names in its pair.

Comparing labels from different directions mixes two variables and cannot isolate a yin-yang difference.

  • Start with the five functional pairs.
  • Change only the polarity variable.

Follow the canonical lookup rather than intuition

Direct and indirect translations do not provide a universal shortcut because the traditional naming convention differs across pairs.

A complete Day-Master-to-stem table prevents silent reversals and keeps all five locales aligned.

  • Resolve labels from the shared table.
  • Preserve the Chinese source name.

Context can outweigh a simple polarity image

A rooted, seasonally supported indirect label may be more operative than a weak, unrooted direct label.

Visibility, pillar position, relation network, and timing determine expression after the label is derived.

  • Assess capacity independently.
  • Treat imagery as secondary commentary.

Polarity does not reveal sensitive traits

It cannot determine sex, gender identity, orientation, fertility, dominance, honesty, intelligence, or mental health.

Neither side of a Ten-God pair is inherently moral, modern, healthy, favorable, or valuable.

  • Remove demographic stereotypes.
  • Do not assign ethical rankings.
