Overview

The Illness-and-Remedy Method (病藥法) organizes interpretation as diagnosis, mechanism, and correction. The “illness” is a specific chart obstruction, imbalance, or damaging relation; the “medicine” is the function that directly changes that mechanism without causing a larger failure. A rigorous application names the problem before the remedy, compares alternatives, checks whether the candidate can operate, and treats the language strictly as metaphor.

At a glance

Step 1
Define one specific structural illness
Step 2
Trace the causal mechanism
Step 3
Compare corrective functions
Step 4
Verify availability and side effects
Output
Diagnosis, remedy, counterevidence, and confidence
Boundary
Metaphor only, never healthcare advice

Define a bounded structural illness

Name the exact excess, blockage, damage, or failed condition and identify the symbols that support it.

Separate multiple problems rather than calling the whole life or person “ill.”

  • One diagnosis per reasoning chain.
  • Use chart evidence, not event hindsight.

Trace the mechanism before naming medicine

Show how the problem forms, which target it affects, and which relation keeps it active.

If the mechanism is uncertain, present competing diagnoses before selecting a corrective role.

  • Cause before cure.
  • Publish alternative explanations.

Compare remedies and test their operation

Evaluate whether each candidate weakens, redirects, protects, or clears the problematic route and what it affects elsewhere.

Check roots, exposure, source, reach, obstruction, and timing before calling any candidate effective.

  • Compare benefit and collateral cost.
  • Separate natal and timing supply.

Do not medicalize the metaphor

The method cannot diagnose an illness, select a body part, prescribe treatment, or assess prognosis.

Seek qualified care for health concerns and never delay it because of a chart label.

  • No diagnosis or treatment.
  • No delay-of-care implication.
