What Is Kui Gang (魁罡) in BaZi?
Kui Gang is limited to four day pillars: Geng-Chen, Ren-Chen, Wu-Xu, and Geng-Xu. Learn why a match is not automatically a special structure.

Kui Gang applies to four day pillars: Geng-Chen, Ren-Chen, Wu-Xu, and Geng-Xu. Matching one identifies the classical label but does not automatically establish a Kui Gang structure. When the month command supports Wealth, Officer, Resource, or Output, the main structure takes priority.

Kui Gang is limited to four complete day pillars
The four classical days are Geng-Chen, Ren-Chen, Wu-Xu, and Geng-Xu. Both the day stem and day branch must match; Chen, Xu, Geng, Ren, or Wu elsewhere in the chart is not a substitute.
A result should display the complete day pillar and matching rule. This first step identifies a term and does not yet prove a special structure or personality outcome.

A Kui Gang day and a formed Kui Gang structure differ
San Ming Tong Hui discusses repetition, strength, clashes, Wealth, and Officer conditions. Crucially, it says that when the month command presents Wealth, Officer, Resource, or related primary structures, those should be used instead of rigidly forcing the named pattern.
A reliable reading completes seasonal strength and pattern analysis first, then decides whether Kui Gang remains useful as a secondary description. One of four dates is not enough to declare a special destiny.

Decisiveness and authority are historical symbols
Classical texts associate Kui Gang with decisiveness, control, or authority. These are premodern type descriptions, not evidence of leadership skill, character, or competence.
People with the same day pillar differ because of environment, education, choice, and the rest of the chart. Observable conduct remains stronger evidence than a symbolic label.

Violence, crime, and relationship boundary
Kui Gang cannot identify violence, criminal risk, marriage quality, gender role, or job suitability. It must never justify control or harm.
