How Red Phoenix is calculated
Xing Xue Da Cheng states that a Zi year starts Red Phoenix at Mao and then counts backward. The complete mapping is Zi-Mao, Chou-Yin, Yin-Chou, Mao-Zi, Chen-Hai, Si-Xu, Wu-You, Wei-Shen, Shen-Wei, You-Wu, Xu-Si, and Hai-Chen.

Its relationship with Heavenly Joy
Red Phoenix and Heavenly Joy are opposite points in the same twelve-branch arrangement. For example, a Zi year assigns Mao to Red Phoenix and You to Heavenly Joy, and Mao and You oppose each other.
That geometric relation explains why the two names are often discussed together, but one is not a stronger version of the other. Each target must be calculated and located independently.
