Overview
Clashes and punishments in Bazi compatibility (合婚中的相沖相刑, Hé Hūn Zhōng De Xiāng Chōng Xiāng Xíng) compare specific Earthly Branches across two charts. A clash requires one of the six recognized opposing pairs; a punishment requires the full rule used by the selected school, including how it treats two-member, three-member, and self-punishment patterns. Record each branch’s chart, pillar, hidden stems, natal condition, competing relations, and timing. Cross-chart contact does not merge the natal charts, and the technical words “clash” and “punishment” do not prove arguments, incompatibility, abuse, separation, divorce, or harm.

Identify the exact relation and required members
List the participating branches, charts, and pillar positions. For a clash, name the recognized pair; for punishment, show every member required by the declared table.
Do not upgrade two partial members into a complete three-member punishment or create self-punishment from unlike branches. If schools disagree, publish the selected convention.

Restore natal condition and competing contacts
Review hidden stems, Month Command, roots, structure, useful functions, and existing natal contacts for every branch. The same cross-chart pair can meet different conditions in each chart.
List combinations, harms, breaks, meetings, void, and dated contacts separately. State the priority rule instead of assuming that one relation cancels another.

Translate structure into neutral review questions
A clash may support questions about change, movement, opposition, or adjustment; a punishment may flag a repeated or constrained structural relation under its stated rule. Neither is a human event.
Keep the language conditional and time-bounded. Compare Day Masters, spouse palaces, spouse stars, and actual behavior without turning technical severity into a risk score.
